Zero-Data-Collection Security Model: BidIQ does not collect, store, or transmit your personal data, Upwork credentials, session cookies, or browsing history to our servers. All profile settings, resume context, and local inputs are stored strictly on your local browser.

1. Information We Process Locally

To provide AI-generated proposals and client risk analysis directly inside your Upwork screen, BidIQ processes the following details locally in your browser's sandboxed environment:

  • Job Details: Upwork job titles, descriptions, and client history stats (hire rates, spend history, payment verification status). This is used strictly to evaluate risk metrics and generate custom proposal text.
  • Profile Details: Your active Upwork profile category, rate, and locally-configured resume bio.

2. Data Storage & Privacy

All user configurations, including local portfolio highlights, selected tones, and license keys, are saved locally on your browser using Chrome's secure local storage API (chrome.storage.local). This data never leaves your computer.

3. Third-Party Services (OpenAI & Lemon Squeezy)

  • Proposal Generation: When you generate a proposal, the job description and your profile summary are securely sent via SSL to our backend server, which proxies the request to OpenAI APIs to generate the draft. OpenAI does not use data submitted via developer APIs to train their models.
  • Billing and Licensing: Subscription billing and license checks are processed securely by Lemon Squeezy. We do not store or collect credit card details.

4. Security

We are committed to securing your data. Because BidIQ does not collect database records of your personal credentials or sessions, there is zero risk of server-side data leaks or identity theft.
